Light and Shadow is a small, independently run, gallery, shop and studios, run by me, Jonathan Murphy. I’m a practicing visual artist based in Wexford town in the South East of Ireland. Here I bring you my handcrafted collection of lightbox lanterns.
These simple silhouette designs take on allegorical, narrative forms, making you feel as though you have happened upon a scene to which you must decide the outcome.
Each handcrafted design is made from paper and set into a wooden frame then back lit with a warm ambient light. They are designed to be functional pieces of art that, if cared for, will last a lifetime.

Take the virtual tour
If you’ve ever passed by but never had the time to drop in or if you’re not from the area but are curious as to the goings on in Light and Shadow, then click the button below to take a virtual tour of the space.
